Demonstration Project on Hydrilla and Hygrophila in the Upper Kissimmee Chain of Lakes The 2009 Hydrilla Field Day has been rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions (high winds, predicted rain and lightning) and the new date for the 2009 Hydrilla Field Day is THURSDAY, JUNE 4 at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. There is limited space on the airboat tours, so please pre-register soon to ensure your seat. If we have severe weather the day of the event, we will notify you of a backup indoor location to meet. ***Please pre-register for this event by May 29 *** Hydrilla Field Day Thursday, June 4th May 21st 10 am-2 pm Kissimmee Lakefront Park Pavilion (near boat ramp) 101 Lakeshore Blvd., Kissimmee, FL 34741 Experts will be on-site to discuss the problems associated with aquatic weeds (particularly hydrilla and hygrophila) and the $2.9 million Demonstration Project grant awarded to Osceola County from EPA to study the problem. Come find out what researchers have found so far and learn more about aquatic weed issues in our lakes! **** We will have boat tours of treatment areas, exhibits highlighting demonstration results for this project, aquatic plant displays, and more! **** Lunch and boat tours will be provided for pre-registered attendees.
